On the   quick review on page 338, you were to rewrite the equations in exponential form or logarithmic form.  For problem 3, (x+3)=2, write down the THOUGHT PROCESS you went through to do this rewrite.  What were the steps you went through?  If you get this done by April 25 (pay day for your teachers!) there will be a treat.

Time do to some higher order thinking.  Compare sine, cosine and tangent.  What are the differences and similarities.  Treats for everyone who is done with 8 and 9 by Monday, April 16.

Spring is here, the grass is green, flowers are blooming.  Do not get spring fever or senioritis yet!  For this blog, define the term differential equation IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

It is time for some more reflection.  Next year's freshmen will be attending an orientation soon.  As seniors, what words of wisdom do you have for them?  Please give them two pieces of advice.  One needs to be specific, the other can be more general.  I need this done my Monday, April 2.

Wow, third quarter is almost over!  Are you counting down the days yet, seniors?
Here is what you need to do this week:
Your friend knows how to compute integrals but never could understand what difference "dx" makes, claiming it is irrelevant.  How would you explaing to your friend why it is necessary?

Due March 9 (end of the quarter!)

OK, we are halfway through the third quarter.  It is time for some reflection.  Look back through the year  so far in calculus.  Has it been what you expected?  Is it harder or easier?  Have you enjoyed the challenge?  If you look back at the first chapter, are you amazed at how easy it now looks?  Tell us whatever you want.  This should be a "real paragraph"-thesis statement, 5 to 7 sentences.  Maybe some transition words!  Have fun.
Due on March 2.  (If you can tell me what famous person's birthday is March 2, you get a treat.

OK, we are halfway through the third quarter!  To answer this post, you will need to look at question 26 on page 257 of your text book.--Sorry, but I couldn't get the graphic on the blog!  This graph shows the sales record for a company over a 10 year period.  If sales are emasured in millions of units per year, explaning what info can be obtained from the AREA of the region, and WHY.  Remember what the title of this chapter is.  Have a great week.
Due Feb.

Congratulations to David, winner of the prize for blog #2.  Here is this week's task.
The following question is from the quick review on page 214.  (number  3)  I know you can do it, but what I want you to do is WRITE down your thought processes as you did the problem.  Remember those sequencing words.

3.  Find the volume of a cone with radius 5 cm and hieght 8 sm.

Great job on the comparisons.  Now, tell me when you would use each type of value.  I am thinking real world experiences here--good luck.  Due January 27.

Get ready, next blog will be writing down your thinking process while doing a problem.  Maybe you can practice it before then!
